About Me

Hello my name is Debbie and I have been practising Reiki and Complementary Therapies since my Mum’s early passing in the year 2000. Mum suffered from dementia and cancer.

My Mum was a healer, but when my sister and I were younger we really didn’t understand.  Our Mum often told us we also had ‘healing hands’.  I once had an outer body experience and I was so scared!.  But my Mum said I was very lucky.

After the passing of my Mum and my outer body experience my journey began….

After qualifying and completing my complementary therapies – my qualifications can be found at www.therapy-directory.org.uk – under Debbie Ellen Gribben; I worked for many Companies, carrying out massage for Companies such as, ING Direct, Barclaycard, Hasbro, Ticketmaster, T4 On The Beach and many more! I have worked all over the Country attending events, promotions and exhibitions.  I also (along with my sister) hired two rooms within the Wellness Centre in Stevenage to carry out our treatments.

In between this time my Dad and niece became ill with cancer.  My sister and I stopped working and looked after them both.  Our training and spiritual awareness helped a great deal within these times.  We spent many hours, days, months in the Teenager Cancer ward, and when my niece was well enough we had ‘pamper days’ in which we gently massaged her feet, hands and back, and painted her nails.  We also used visualisation and meditation techniques, to help foresee life beyond cancer.  Dad also had a few back massages, but his way of coping was going to the Wellness Centre and exercising, when he was well enough.

Today I am dedicated to helping people with cancer and long term illnesses, mental health issues, anxiety and stress. Or anyone who simple needs some ‘me time’.  I believe to live well in our lives we need a combination of touch therapy, such as massage, aromatherapy and Reiki. Meditation, mindfulness, visualisation, good nutrition and regular exercise.  I have also found a ‘laugh out loud’ approach works wonders too!

I am on the directory of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and a member and co-ordinator for the Federation of Holistic Therapists, I am also Association of Reflexology
